Assistant Scientific Officer (Husbandry) 1993-'95

At the Field R&D Centre of Minota Aquatech Ltd., the erstwhile aquaculture subsidiary of ITC Ltd. The main function was to provide technical support through routine analysis of various physico-chemical and biological parameters involved in shrimp hatchery and grow-out farm of the company at Tuticorin, India.

At the R&D Centre of the above company at Chennai, India. The function includes diagnostic pathology of shrimp, disease investigations and development of preventive and therapeutic measures for various shrimp diseases.

Aquatic Pathologist 1997-'98

At the Aquatic Pathology laboratory, Chennai of INVE Aquaculture NV., a Belgium based aquaculture feed manufacturer. The main function was to provide technical support for a commercial dot-blot based gene probe kit for rapid detection of White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) in shrimp and shrimp disease related studies.

Consulting Microbiologist 1999 -‘00

For NCC Bluewater Products Ltd., Visakhapatnam, India. The principle functions were setting up the on-farm microbiology facility for the company and training the personnel in various microbial techniques to support the shrimp hatchery and farm.

At Padmanabha Labs, Chennai, India. Managing the activities of the shrimp disease diagnostic laboratory. The responsibilities included were quality evaluation of shrimp seed by PCR technique and diagnostic microbiology of shrimp hatchery and farm.

 

Responsable de laboratoire 2001-present

 

At the Domestication and Breeding Centre of Aquaculture de la Mahajamba (AQUALMA), Madagascar. The function includes managing various laboratory units like microbiology, PCR and histology and screening for pathogens to ensure SPF status of the domesticated broodstocks.  Providing diagnostic support for the companies hatcheries and farms.
